Sam's Reads

I have no plans to review adults books at this time, but in case you're curious, this is what I'm currently reading and what I've recently read, including some incredibly brief opinions:

Currently Reading
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling - read this before, but want a refresher before the movies come out.

Recently Finished
My Best Friend's Girl by Dorothy Koomson - made me both laugh and cry out loud in parts, which scores big marks with me.

Push by Sapphire - did not enjoy at all, but can see why Oprah did.

The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold - liked the narration style, hated the ending.

A Parent's Guide to Asperger Syndrome and High-Functioning Autism: How to Meet the Challenges and Help Your Child Thrive by Sally Ozonoff, Geraldine Dawson, and James McPartland - more useful and less offensive than many.

The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd - loved it.

Your Money or Your Life: 9 Steps to Transforming Your Relationship with Money and Achieving Financial Independence: Revised and Updated for the 21st Century by Vicki Robin, Joe Dominiquez, and Monique Tilford - useful in parts, but tedious in others.

Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells - loved it.

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt - okay, but probably won't read it again.

Still Alice by Lisa Genova - reviewed here

  1. 'm a new author and have just published my first children's book. It's written in two languages English as well as Spanish, French, Italian, German, Chinese, Arabic or Russian - and it is especially designed to teaching children new words and phrases. It's a short story about a curious bear learning about how much wonder there is in the world outside of what he knows and how many challenges there are to be had.

It would be incredibly helpful to me to get a review from you on your website. Please let me know if this is something you can do. I will gladly send you a PDF copy of the English-Spanish edition. And let me know if there's anything else you need to complete the review.

Thank you so much in advance!
    Tim
